Who we are

We are a vibrant, Torah observant, Messianic Community of Jewish and non-Jewish Believers, loyal to Jewish heritage and true to New Covenant faith. We embrace Yeshua as our Messiah and Lord and seek to know Him and make Him known to both Jews and Gentiles.

Our History

Beth Shechinah was officially planted as a Messianic Congregation in Calgary, Alberta, in 1994. We are currently the only Messianic Congregation in the Calgary area. As a result, we are in a unique position within our city to build unity, understanding and cooperation between the Jewish and Christian communities.

Since our beginnings as a Messianic Congregation, we have been blessed to be actively involved in our city. Over the years we have held City Wide Prayer gatherings for Israel, held Conferences, Passover Seders, Sukkot and Shavuot gatherings to help build unity in our community.

In 2010, Adonai blessed us with our own building. This was made possible by the contribution of many congregations and believers throughout Calgary who believe in our ministry and have supported and prayed for us throughout the years. This has empowered us to provide a number of ministries in our Congregation.

Since 2011 we have been actively involved with the Jewish National Fund providing financial support and being actively involved in Pitch for Israel, a fund-raising Baseball tournament to help with projects in Israel. We are also supporting Mogen David Adom, an organization that provides medical equipment and assistance to Israel.

We are committed in creating a loving community where you can feel at home and accepted, a place where you can grow deeper in your faith and your relationship with Adonai.

We want to build an environment where both Jewish and Non-Jewish Believers can come together in unity to worship, to serve and identify with their Biblical heritage and discover the Jewish roots of their faith.

For Your Family

We believe the family is the foundation of society. A society is only as strong as the family unit. Our vision is to have a community of healthy families and marriage relationships that provide a model of family life. We value husbands and wives and encourage them to strengthen their covenant relationship with each other.

We value our children as treasures. They are gift from the Lord and a reward from Him. We have a Shabbat school ministry that is designed to help our children grown and thrive in their walk with Adonai.

Our aim is to provide a support system for families and individuals who are facing challenges and difficulties. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 127:2,3; Proverbs 24:3,4; Ephesians 5:23-32).

For Our Community

As the only Messianic congregation in the Calgary area, we are in a unique position within our city to build unity and cooperation between the Jewish and Christian community. We desire to be a light to the Jewish people within our city and to share the truth that you don’t stop being Jewish when you believe in Yeshua.

Also part of our vision is to help bring understanding to misconceptions in the Christian community regarding Israel and the Jewish people and to assist the Church in understanding their role in reaching our people.

For Israel

We stand in full support of Israel both in faith and action. We pray continually for our people in the Land and support a number of organizations within Israel who are involved in important ministries to the Jewish people. We believe in God’s promise to Abram that

” I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3, CJB).

We also support Israel’s economy and industries by taking tour groups to Israel on a yearly basis.
